Disco may have died at Comiskey Park in 1979, but now there’s a crowd of music fans gathering together for a wild and stimulating experience. The speakers are giving the audience a pulsating bass massage. The forgiving musical therapy is controlled by none other than Nick Bernstein and Henry Jai, Chicago’s Compact Disco.
Since 2009, Compact Disco kicked off the electronic & dance music scene by ghost producing for respectable named artists, eventually having them play along side Chromeo, Designer Drugs, Passion Pit, Felix Da Housecat, Flux Pavillion, Doctor P, Mustard Pimp, and more.
Being a full force production duo and DJ’s, Compact Disco have gathered the respect from their audience and made them into a family of fans. Compact Disco are also resident DJ’s at Chicago’s Girls & Boys events. 2012 will continue their success with original work and touring the country. Long live disco.

Craig Williams
Electronic/Dance/DJ
With limitless energy, a rock star stage presence and his trademark mane of jet black hair, Craig Williams is building a reputation as a musical tour de force both behind the decks and in the studio.
An Australian transplant who found his way to LA after nine years in the Australian Army as a Blackhawk helicopter crewman, Williams has seen tours of duty on humanitarian missions in such far flung places as East Timor & Pakistan. While he couldn’t take his CDJ’s with him, Craig got back on the decks with a vengeance after leaving the Army in 2008- beginning with a temp residency at the Full Moon parties in Queensland alongside marquee DJ’s such as Kaskade, Bang Gang Dj’s and Andy Murphy.
By 2009 he’d released his first single on Bombeatz and signed a deal with the label after moving to LA in 2010. That same year Craig Williams beat out more than 400 DJ’s in multiple rounds of international competition to become a finalist in the Lollapalooza Remix contest which he eventually won in front of a raucous capacity crowd at Chicago’s famous Double Door nightclub. Williams earned himself a trunkful of swag and a coveted spot on the 2010 Lollapalooza lineup, playing on Perry’s stage and partying afterward with DJ luminaries like Felix da House Cat, Rusko and Caspa.
Later that year his remix of (Flirt In A Skirt (Sexy Skirt)) made the 24 UK pop club charts and Williams realized that there was no turning back on his music career ambitions and that the sky was the limit.
Inspired by his success and the accolades from the industry, Craig Williams enrolled at the SAE institute in Los Angeles, recently graduating from the audio engineering school at the top of his class. A tireless worker in the studio, Williams has released nine tracks with Bombeatz and one each on the mk837 and Keep On Records labels this year alone and he is gaining attention for the Craig Williams sound, characterized by an eclectic ensemble of sounds that evoke the rawest of emotions and crisp, airy production.
Craig Williams has big plans for the future in the production, composition and DJ arenas and if the last few years are any indication, it should be quite a show.
Punky Fresh
Electronic/Dance/DJ
Punky Fresh are electronic music producers, DJ’s, and live performers from the house capital of the world, Chicago, IL. They are made of two brothers, Pete and Dan. The two started off experimenting with various sounds after attending Perry’s Stage at Lollapalooza 2008.
In nearly six months, Punky Fresh went from playing underground parties to playing with worldwide established artists and DJ’s. The duo won the 2009 Dell Lounge: LBS Remix competition and landed a coveted spot at Lollapalooza that summer.
The following year Punky Fresh were selected by Global Inheritance to play the Sweatshop Mixer at Coachella 2010, but due to sudden scheduling conflict, the duo had to decline. Later that summer, Punky Fresh went on their first tour that stretched out from Colorado to Pennsylvania.
Pete and Dan spent most of winter 2010 finishing their debut album ‘Like Lavender’ which is self described as bipolar yet sophisticated enough that it balances punk attitude with hip hop & rock sounds in an electro/house environment. ‘Like Lavender’ is due Fall 2011.
QUOTES
“Winners of Lollapalooza’s Last Band Standing competition, North Side DJs Punky Fresh combine pop anthems and their own material into fast paced mash up sets, making them the ideal party rockers.” -TimeOut Chicago
“It’s not just a brand-new year, but a whole new decade, so why not kick it off with something fresh? Chicago’s Punky Fresh is so recently arrived on the scene that not only doesn’t the act have an album out yet, but it still has that new-producer smell… They trade in genre-busting, expectation-defying juxtapositions of sound and style that fit the name Punky Fresh. On a track like “Wild Leek,” they can proffer the kind of old-school trance that used to be the mainstay of the Superstition label, garnished with a twist of today’s electro house. Then, on a track like “HTHRS RVNG,” they’ll go and remind you of the weird cut-and-pasted-samples and day-glo synth aesthetic of the proto-rave scene. And just when you think you’ve got them pegged as retro-revivalists, they turn around and mash up Far with MIA in a completely of-the-moment-sounding mix. So forget the categories and go hear them with open ears…” -Cory Casciato, Denver Westword
“These guys are extremely talented… Their tracks are full, crunchy and loud – they remind me of artists like ULTRNX. “Wild Leek” is especially nice, with slight retro-ness both in production style and chosen sounds that works to the track’s advantage.” -Dani Deahl, DSQUARED
“Northbrook group Punky Fresh has advanced to the finals in the Last Band Standing Remix contest. The final competition between will take place at 8 p.m. Aug. 5 at Double Door, 1572 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago. The judges include the Beastie Boys’ Mix Master Mike. The grand prize winner will perform at Lollapalooza in August. Visit their site at www.myspace.com/punkyfreshsounds.” -Pioneer Local (July 30, 2009)
“DJ duo Punky Fresh remixed “The Reeling” by indie pop darlings Passion Pit for the Lollapalooza Last Band Standing Remix Contest… Punk Fresh did a nice job of chopping up the original and putting it back together in fresh new way with a few new bells & whistles.” -Arjan Writes Music Blog
“Love the Far(Pony)/MIA(Planes) mash, well-played” – Jonah Matranga (Far)
“Punky Fresh’s latest track ["HTHRS RVNG"] is an addictive and charming banger…” -The Lemur Blog
“The spring is here everyone! With a little help from Punky Fresh and their awesome little single ["Sunshine Pill"], a little awesome feeling might just move into your heart! A remix is demanded!” -The Lemur Blog
“Here is a track ["Rock Obama"] that was sent to us by Chicago producer Punky Fresh. Not very well known but certainly on the grind… this post is proof that if it isn’t bad we’ll put it out there for the masses.” -Salacious Sound Blog
